EDIT: The song is actually called "Come On Girl". Thank you to Smokey for pointing that out. Here is a snippet (get used to that word because most of the cassette contains snippets Lol) of the song "Come On Girl" by Playa. The song was produced by Darryl Pearson. Da Bassment - Sexual Healing by StaticMajorIsMusic Static absolutely destroys the track! Even though Static is great at switching up his style from track to track, at times I wished he just sang songs like this all the time because his voice was truly special. You can also hear Smokey singing on the second verse before the song fades out and Black is doing adlibs on the whole song.

Here is an unreleased Playa song from back in the day. I don't know any background behind this song, so Neeze can fill us in on the track. It's another Freaky Friday, and that means brand new exclusive music to start off the weekend. Today we bring you 'Hummers and Escalades', a Young Sears produced track that features Black. I have the impression that this track was meant for Playa, though I have no confirmation on that. Anyways, enjoy the song, and keep your seatbelts on... You've heard the original recorded by Makeba, now here is the version that was sold to Olivia. The song was never put out on any album, and to date remains unreleased. Neeze dropped off this song for us and explained that it was originally intended to be recorded by Brandy, and eventually Olivia was flown out to Louisville to record the song. To this day, I don't think the Olivia version has been released, but I think Neeze might have that for us too. Y'all know about Rudy aka Rudy "Groove" who has worked a lot with Static, & to this day the most popular song they worked together is "On The Hotline" for Pretty Ricky. As many of you already know, I consider myself a huge Playa. But I had no idea this song even existed until Neeze decided to share it with us. This song was done in Australia during the recording of the Aaliyah album.

Here's a song from Digital Black called "Halfway" off of his 2004 album "Memoirs of an R&B Thug" that features Static. When I was first listening to the song, I thought it was a cool song. But once I heard Static jump on the track, it totally blew me away. The way he harmonizes and just completely adds a new element to the song is just amazing to me. This is one of the rarest known Timbaland produced songs out there. It was sort of like a myth to a lot of people because we all knew it existed, but we just didn't know if it was ever going to come out. From the interview with Neeze , he told us Static wanted to keep this joint and put it on his Suppertime album. It definitely sounds like this was one of Static's favourite joints and it's one of my favourites too. Let's take this moment to not only remember Playa's great music, but also remember when Timbaland actually made Hip-Hop beats. If you haven't read it by now, Timbaland is retiring from making Hip-Hop music. And some Static news for everyone, "All The Way To Heaven" is slated for a Late-January release. Can't really say much about this joint besides the fact that it's hot. An interesting fact about this song is that they used certain elements from the K-Ci and JoJo song "HBI". Now we all know Jodeci was a huge influence on Playa, so was this just a coincidence? We'll consider this part 1 of the Playa/Jodeci connection (with many more to come!)
