Static Major Is Music

Here is a track we've been meaning to post, but Slam has been busy making $$$$$ This track was produced by Rudy.

Edit: Here is the first version of the song in CDQ. This is not the final mix of the song, however this is the version that most of us know. One of the best Static songs out there. I have no idea how Static made a Sex metaphor with something like Coffee, it's ingenious. And a bonus for everyone, here is him performing it live. Sadly, this won't be on Suppertime.

Here is one of my person fav Static songs. This is probably one of the more popular Static songs as it was on his myspace for a long time. The song also showcases Static's harmonies and how great they were. I believe this song was produced by Rudy, but I may be wrong on that. Anyway, enjoy!

Here is the first single off "Suppertime". Unfortunately this song didn't blow up like it should have. With that being said though, the track is still crazy! With production by Rudy and some help from the duo of Goodfella and YV, Static put it all together and created a timeless masterpiece. As Goodfella said, this is probably the ghettoest pop song ever. So the question for today is: What was your initial reaction when you first heard "I Got My"? I know it happened to you at least once in your life, meeting someone that you swear she can be a super model, someone you just cross at the street, at the mall or at the bus stop :) You heard that song on the previous skype sessions, Rudy talked about it, song was proposed for Usher, but he did used it or even record it, i'm glad Static kept it for his Suppertime. I've been listening to that son gsince last summer, so i couldn't keep it to myself any longer, song is perfect for the summer, do i need to tell you that it helped me getting some numbers??? lol Anyway, i've been workin on a little video to express myself on the song, just to say that any regular girl can be a super model, Static again benn reading my mind; enjoy the video!

So we have this hot joint produced once again by Rudy. Though I don't want to take away the attention from this track, some of us fans noticed that Static wrote another track called "Fired" for 50 Cent (according to Static's myspace anyway). So the question is, did someone just make a mistake with that 50 Cent song? I've looked on ASCAP along with many other sites and Static's name is nowhere on the 50 Cent track. In my opinion, this 50 Cent song doesn't have any of Static's elements to it. There can only be 3 theories to this mystery: 1. Static did write the hook for "Fire" by 50 Cent 2. The hook was written by Sean Garrett, but someone may have saw S. Garrett and thought it was Static. I should note though that S. Garrett isn't even credited so this theory is flawed already, lol. 3. Someone got "Fire" by Lil Eazy E and "Fire" by 50 Cent mixed up. Let me know what you think and hopefully someone can clarify the whole ...

I've been busy with school and stuff, but I gotta post this track. Without saying too much or anything, name all the tracks that Static references to in this song.

A song that I originally didn't really like, but grew to love the more I listened to it. This is now one of my favourite Static songs ever and Rudy gets a lot of credit for the killer beat. With a lot of his beats, you can hear traces of "On The Hotline", but he manages to switch it up enough so that you know it's a Rudy track. Here is what Static had to say about the song: "Tracks like “Easy Come Easy Go” offer Major’s thoughts on love and relationships, of which he says, “You could be madly in love one day but tomorrow, I might not be feeling you any more. So let’s make the best out of it while we’re together right now because tomorrow you might feel differently about me.”

I don't think I even need to introduce this song. If you're a true Static follower, you will recognize this title immediately. This is taken from Static's myspace: On “Miracles,” he opines, “I got $20 in my pocket/a quarter tank of gas,” reasoning, “the ‘hood draws to [the subject matter] because in the ‘hood they believe in miracles every day. The light bill’s getting ready to go out and the something happens and – boom! – they can pay the light bill.” So kick back and listen to Static at his best. This song was produced by J Valentine according to Rudy. And a quick blog update for everyone: I (Buddha) won't be around as much for the next month because I'm going on vacation, so please don't be mad if I don't respond to your e-mails right away. With the assistance of people like Neeze, Rudy, Goodfella, Spark1one and many others, we've been able to learn what Static was like in the studio. However, we've never had the opportunity to listen to how a Static Major song is actually made, from beginning to end. So here is a special treat for everyone, as we are about to let you hear an early version of the Rudy produed track, "All The Way To Heaven". As you can probably notice, a lot of Static's signature background vocals are missing from the track. This really makes me appreciate the man's music because his harmonies, although unique and different, never sounded over the top or unnecessary. He was able to find the perfect combination of everything to make the song sound "just right". Here is the final product for those who have not heard it:

Here's another dope track from Suppertime for you: Touch, one of my personal favorites of the moment. And, as a bonus, we've uploaded the versions Static recorded with Kasanova: I have no idea which version was recorded first. I personally like Static's solo version and Touch pt.1 best. This is absolutely one of my favorite joints and it has been on constant replay for a while now, so I hope you will enjoy this as much as I have. Released with no real promotion (but Louisville resident as i know, had this mixtape for a while), i guess lot of us didn't know about it until lately. This is for the hood lovers, got Lil Flip on it, Young Sears productions, it's OG Music here! We also got Playa songs on it. I guess Static wanted to give us just a taste of what Suppertime could be, the "Vol. 1" meaned it had to has other volume coming, but for this one like i said, it's OG Music except the last track... Y'all know i'm addicted of Static's OG side, so i wanted to talk about "Crank It Up"! Produced by Young Sears, it's great to see Static featuring on this one, cause the song has been released as a single & he's in the video (not like Jay-Z - Change The Game, where they didn't call him to be in the video), for those who haven't seen it yet, there it is: So being in the video was perfect at this time for him to be in the spotlight as a solo artist & introduce his "Suppertime" album. But i can't let you go without giving you an extra for the instrumental lovers like me!

We've hit the 100 post plateau so it's a good time to thank all the readers that have been here from day 1 and also the new readers who are checking the blog out everyday. Once Playa decided to go their separated ways, we soon saw Digital Black and Smoke E. Digglera release their debut albums. As time went by, they went to work on their second albums and released them a short while later. The only member of Playa that has yet to have their album released is Static. You may wonder to yourself, "why?". It is well documented that Static wanted "Suppertime" to be the perfect album so he reworked his album many times until he was satisfied with it. A few years ago, a tracklisting of Suppertime leaked onto the internet and although it doesn't have a lot of the songs that are confirmed for the album ("I Got My", "Coffee In Da Morning", "4 a Long Time"), there are some interesting bits to it. Even though this was the first full year without Static, he still a left his mark on the year musically.
