Static Major Is Music

So we're going to feature the original and remix to the song Luv 2 Luv Ya. Even though one is a remix, they're essentially different songs with a different vibe, different lyrics and even a different female rapper. First we have the original featuring Smokey and Static on the bridge and St Nick (also known as Nikki from the Ginuwine song "Holler") You may or may not know that the hook of that song is actually from the Donna Summer song "Love To Love You Baby" And then we have the remix of the song which was released as a single. This one features Shauna and has Playa doing backgrounds on the hook. Which version do you prefer?

Here is one of many Bassment songs we will be sharing with you from the cassette. We're going to start it out with a rap joint by Missy, Timbaland and Magoo. I think it's amazing how polished all of them were already even though they didn't release any CDs yet.

Of course we are all familiar with this song as it was released as a single on the "Romeo Must Die" soundtrack. But check out this alternate version: I know a lot of Timbaland fans have known about this song for a long long time, but this may new to some Static fans. You can probably tell that the chorus along with the beat are different. Which version do you prefer? Big shout out to J Boogie and talkingcrazy for sharing this.

So on this track, we have Timbaland, Magoo, Static, Smokey and Black all on one track. For the people that don't know, this was going to be the first single off the Bassment compilation that Devante was going to put out. This material has never been on the internet...until now, all thanks to my man Neeze. A lot of you may recognize the hook because they reused the hook for the song "Smoke In Da Air" off Timbaland & Magoo's first album "Welcome To Our World". Exclusive song is provided by Neeze, courtesy of Swatt Music

Check out the sick Static harmonies at the end.

In my opinion, on most of Timbaland's albums, it seems that most of the best tracks don't even feature him primarily on the song. "Joy" is a personal favorite of mine from the 1997 album "Welcome to Our World" and features both Ginuwine and Playa on the track with a rap by Static. This is the first of a few songs I'm going to feature that have Static rapping. I always found his raps to be a bit different; very "melodic" and very unique to say the least.

A throwback track for everyone. The video threw me off the first time I saw it. Boogeyman's caught me off guard, lol. Interesting to see Black rapping as well. And here is live footage of Smokey and Black performing at the K-Ci concert a couple of days ago. All My Life Love U 4 Life Cheers 2 U

Here is part of the episode where people discuss the whole Bassment project, with appearances by Static, Ginuwine, Timbaland, Magoo, along with others. And while we're talking about Da Bassment, let's take a look at Static's first music appearance, on the remix of the Sista track "Brand New". Sista "Brand Nu" (Mr Dalvin Remix) Here is the song in CDQ for all the people that don't have it...
