Static Major Is Music

Looks like there will be more surprises coming our way. Neeze has found a couple of tapes himself. No one knows for sure what is exactly in these tapes, but let's hope it's more music!

Someone put this cassette tape in Slam's mailbox early today. We have no idea what is in there because well...who still has a cassette player? lol. Slam will be sending it to the homie Andy's house so we can convert it to mp3. Until then, let's play a game. What do you think is in this cassette? First person to guess it right gets a prize I guess lol EDIT: The results are in... Slam, you are NOT the father Okay but anyway, we can now officially confirm that the tape contains... drum roll please *drum rolls* Da Bassment music. Stay tuned as we will letting you hear this stuff in the near future.

As much flack as Pleasure P gets on this blog (lol), we need to also keep in mind that he's been repping Static as hard as anyone has. So today I present to you two tracks by Pleasure P that may or may not be written by Static. The first one we have is "Chocolate Coated Candy", which is produced by Rudy. It's never actually been confirmed that this was written by Static. I had just assumed it was because it was a Rudy produced track. The next track we have is "Lick Lick Lick", which will probably be a lot harder to solve because it doesn't sound like a Rudy beat. As I listen to some of the runs that Pleasure is doing on this song, I can definitely hear Static on it. It might just be influenced by Static though, considering they worked together on Pretty Ricky's first two albums and also on Pleasure's solo album. Let me know what you think. We can't talk about Playa without mention Jodeci, i'm speaking for myself as a Jodeci follower first, but i think everybody should feel the same about if you love Playa, you also love Jodeci. We can still hear some of Jodeci in Playa, they learnt a lot from them, especially from DeVante for Static. Ok we all know about that song, but there is something that i never really noticed on that track, there's a part in "Never Too Late" that comes from a Jodeci song, so i wanna put y'all to work, & find out wich Jodeci song i'm talkin about, we'll see who the real Da Bassment lovers are!

Please let us know anybody realistic you would like to hear speak on Static, and we will try our best to make it happen. Trust, we have already contacted a bunch of people, but we will continue to reach out to anyone we may have overlooked.

Whatsup guys? Buddha speaking here... I just want your thoughts and opinions on certain things that we're about to do on the blog. First and foremost , happy new year to everyone. And onto business, since it is a new year we're going to change a few things around here. For one, starting this monday I'm going to post an untagged version of each track from the mixtape. Just like twitter has it's "Music Monday", we have "Static Music Monday". And to follow up that comment with a question, in the future, would you rather have mixtapes like the Christmas ones or us just posting individual tracks from time to time? And if we do choose the mixtape route, do you guys strictly want Static's songs or also tracks that Static has written for others (like that Aura track I just posted)? Thanks a lot everyone and let's make 2010 a big year for the blog. Static Major 4 Life!

What Is Your Favorite Song On The Christmas Mixtape? Just to get a general feel for what people are feeling the most from the mixtape. Please vote when you have a chance, thanks!

We've talked about the female artists, let's now talk about the male artists. "What is your favourite Static-penned track by a Male Artist (Male Group)? To make it fair, you're not allowed post any Static songs (that's for another week, lol) or Playa songs. I'm going with "So Anxious" by Ginuwine, which is actually my favourite song of all time. Other considerations for me would include "Pony", "Same Ol'G' and "Final Warning" by Ginuwine, and "Can I Take U Home" by Jamie Foxx.

Even though Static was still grinding hard with the group Playa, he ventured out and soon became an accomplished songwriter. So the question today is, "What is your favourite Static-penned track by a female artist (female group)? This is another hard one for me because it's hard enough choosing from Aaliyah's catalogue. Then when you add in all the songs that he's done for artists like Brandy, Nicole Wray and Truth Hurts, it becomes a hard question to really answer. I'm going to have to go with "Are You That Somebody?" or "Try Again" by Aaliyah. It would be impossible for me to choose from these two because really, they're both on my "top 5 songs of all time"." I'm going to go with "Are You That Somebody" though, just because of how unique the song is, and also because of the fact that I got my Rock music listening friend listening to Aaliyah because of that song.

It's been very slow on this blog, which means you guys have to spread the message about the blog! So to see who actually checks this blog out and to have some fun with this, the question for this week is: What is your favourite song by Playa? It can be released, unreleased or both. For me, it would have to be either "Together", "Cheers 2 U" or "Gravy Train". I don't think it's possible for me to choose one, but if I had to, it would probably be "Cheers 2 U".
