Da Bassment Compilation: Sugah - Sugar and Spice

Here is a rare exclusive for everyone. We've all heard Bassment material by Playa, Missy (Sista), Ginuwine, Timbalad & Magoo but we've never heard anything from Sugah. So today we present to you "Sugar and Spice" which was produced by Timbaland and written by Missy Elliott.



Some of the Aaliyah fans may recognize this title because Jomo Hankerson spoke about the song in an article back in the day:

"In the process of recording One in a Million, we got a demo from Timbaland and Missy. The song was called “Sugar and Spice,” which felt a little too kiddie to us, but the structure of the record, the melody, had what became Tim’s signature triplebeat on it. We were overwhelmed, and we sent it to Aaliyah. She called us back like, The track is crazy, this is the best thing I’ve ever heard. So we flew Timbaland and Missy into Detroit to work with her."

So is this the same song? You betcha it is. So we've let you guys into Sugah's world and we've also solved an Aaliyah mystery. Now the question remains, did Aaliyah record the song? Something we'll probably never know, but until then enjoy the sounds of Susan, Rolita and Tweet.

Released with no real promotion (but Louisville resident as i know, had this mixtape for a while), i guess lot of us didn't know about it until lately. This is for the hood lovers, got Lil Flip on it, Young Sears productions, it's OG Music here! We also got Playa songs on it. I guess Static wanted to give us just a taste of what Suppertime could be, the "Vol. 1" meaned it had to has other volume coming, but for this one like i said, it's OG Music except the last track... Playa - 30 years To Life (Movie Soundtrack)

I've seen some of you talkin about the song "She Ain't So Bad", one of my fav Playa song, even if we just could hear a snippet of the song. Actually i think Static is doin it solo. The song contains a sample, from Barry White - Our Theme, released in 1981. Static singin' is amazing, it fits perfectly with the movie theme, deep feelings about women/men relationships. The movie was originally done in 2001, & the dvd was released in 2003, but the soundtrack never came out, & some songs that was played in the movie stayed unreleased til this day. Here's what was playin in the movie: You can see another Playa song called "Baby Girl", song is actually "Lust" but an earlier version, beat is the same, but lyrics on the chorus & vocal arrangements are differents.
