Suppertime Update

Had an opporunity to talk to D Washington (A&R for the Suppertime project) and I should let everyone know that the album is mastered and finalized. No date has been set yet, but a single has been picked and it is "All The Way To Heaven".

I haven't heard the song, but according to producer Rudy, "He's got my all-time favorite song, "All the Way to Heaven," which has kind of a Prince feel."

There you have it! Stay tuned for more updates on Suppertime.

    Great news! At least it MIGHT be released now; I didn't want to believe that the album was shelved. I've been waiting on that for a while now. Now if only we could get a tracklist...

    Good thing for me that the album is slated to be released. Music for me fell apart when Static passed. Then MJ went. So the Suppertime joint will never come out my car or mp3 player.

Taura "Aura" Jackson talks about "Crazy" and Static Major

I've posted some information on the blog exclusive joint "Crazy" by Aura already, but I figured it would make more sense if we heard it straight from her, because she was actually there. So here is the very talented Aura talking about the history of the track: I was signed to Atlantic at the time. Gee Roberson was my A&R and he manages Kanye. Kanye came to the studio and had forgotten his records, but I'm an avid Joni Mitchell fan and had some of her records there. It was like magic watching Kanye work. He crafted that beat like it was a priceless sculpture. When it started to come together Gee, who managed Static at that time too said "What do you think about Static co-writing with you?" Well, I was ecstatic, pun fully intended. Within an hour or so, Static came over.
