Music: Southernaire All-Stars - I Believe (feat. Static Major)

You may or may not remember this Timbaland produced song from back in the day, but it is definitely a banger! The track was done by The Southernaire All-Stars, and it also features Static Major who does the hook and also raps on the track.

The Southernaire All-Stars was a rap group that consisted of Yaushameen, Native and J-Bird. Their album was to be executively produced by Static Major, Jomo and Barry Hankerson. For some reason though, their album was never released. I'm now listening to this track, wondering to myself...what could have been? This is absolute fire.

What do you think of this song?

EDIT: And for the beat lovers, here is the instrumental:

  1. I'll tell you what I think of "I believe"....I'm from Louisville and they used to play this on b96.5 back in early 2001...First off, I loved the song, i mean, listen to it..it's f*ckin crack...but as i was leaving the parking lot of freedom hall where my high school graduation was held back in June of 2001, when i got in the car, THIS song came on....talk about MOTIVATION?!!! Sheeeitttt, dude, i LOVE this song and will NEVER EVER forget that moment. It was surreal. I went on to graduate college and am workin on my masters right now, and yep, I attritbute it to (God of course) and THIS song dude!!! I think of the chorus a LOT when i'm feeling like I can't do somethin. RIP STATIC, this song shows the power of music and the power of static's mind to pen connection. GENIOUS!!!!

Tipsy (3:23) I've heard back in 2005 somebody talk about that "Suppertime Mixtape", but i found it in 2008, & unfortunaly, the mixtape was just available in mp3 format. Released with no real promotion (but Louisville resident as i know, had this mixtape for a while), i guess lot of us didn't know about it until lately. This is for the hood lovers, got Lil Flip on it, Young Sears productions, it's OG Music here! We also got Playa songs on it. I guess Static wanted to give us just a taste of what Suppertime could be, the "Vol. 1" meaned it had to has other volume coming, but for this one like i said, it's OG Music except the last track... Edit: You can listen & buy the mixtape here U

Music: Static Major - Questions (Aaliyah's Demo) (UPDATE WITH FULL SONG)

As we all know, Static & Aaliyah were close, you can feel the chemistry between the writer and the singer, and Static most impressive talent was his ability to write for a woman, to express a woman's feeling. So there's the song "Questions" produced by Buddha, wrote & sung by Static, a demo song for Aaliyah, made around 2000-2001 i think. I don't know yet if she had the chance to record it for herself, but Static version shows his falsetto skills, he wrote for a woman, & even sing the demo like Aaliyah should sing it, amazing! Stay tune for a snippet listening, something rare that i'm sure you don't wanna miss! UPDATE: Here is the first installment of Static Music Monday.

Album: Playa - Throwback Legendz

I'm sure a lot of you have already heard most, if not all, of the album. Smokey has been selling it on his website and I've also been uploading the songs on Youtube. So instead of choosing one of those two options, we've decided to let everyone download this unreleased classic album for free. And I bet a lot of you could probably care less because you've heard every song already right? Wrong. Check out the final version of "Hollywood" that was not included in Smokey's unreleased Playa compilation. So consider this an exclusive courtesy of www.staticmajorismusic.com Big shout-out to Farid for hooking me up with this track and also the entire album in CDQ. http://www.4shared.com/file/H5qAKnAu/Playa_-Throwback_Legendz__2002.html
