Music: Brandy - Sirens

After Aaliyah's death, it seemed like the "Superfriends" clique worked less collectively as a group as time passed and started doing their own thing. Ginuwine ventured out and started working with other producers, Missy started writing for other artists like Monica and Tweet, Timbaland focused on his Beat Club label and of course, Playa had their conflicts with not only their label but also conflict within the group.

As everyone drifted apart, we began to notice arguably the best songwriting/production duo in music missing in action. (Static and Timbaland). In fact, Static was nowhere to be found on Timbaland's 2003 album "Under Construction, Part II", after being a huge part of Timbaland's earlier albums. Fortunately for us though, Timbaland and Static did work on a couple of tracks together.

You may already know about this song, but it was a bonus track so some of ya'll may have not heard it before.

This song is a banger! I still have no idea what Brandy's camp/label was thinking leaving this song off CD. The album itself is a modern-day classic in my opinion, but this song should have been on the album, and not just as a bonus track.

Tipsy (3:23) I've heard back in 2005 somebody talk about that "Suppertime Mixtape", but i found it in 2008, & unfortunaly, the mixtape was just available in mp3 format. Released with no real promotion (but Louisville resident as i know, had this mixtape for a while), i guess lot of us didn't know about it until lately. This is for the hood lovers, got Lil Flip on it, Young Sears productions, it's OG Music here! We also got Playa songs on it. I guess Static wanted to give us just a taste of what Suppertime could be, the "Vol. 1" meaned it had to has other volume coming, but for this one like i said, it's OG Music except the last track... Edit: You can listen & buy the mixtape here U

Music: Static Major - Questions (Aaliyah's Demo) (UPDATE WITH FULL SONG)

As we all know, Static & Aaliyah were close, you can feel the chemistry between the writer and the singer, and Static most impressive talent was his ability to write for a woman, to express a woman's feeling. So there's the song "Questions" produced by Buddha, wrote & sung by Static, a demo song for Aaliyah, made around 2000-2001 i think. I don't know yet if she had the chance to record it for herself, but Static version shows his falsetto skills, he wrote for a woman, & even sing the demo like Aaliyah should sing it, amazing! Stay tune for a snippet listening, something rare that i'm sure you don't wanna miss! UPDATE: Here is the first installment of Static Music Monday.

Album: Playa - Throwback Legendz

I'm sure a lot of you have already heard most, if not all, of the album. Smokey has been selling it on his website and I've also been uploading the songs on Youtube. So instead of choosing one of those two options, we've decided to let everyone download this unreleased classic album for free. And I bet a lot of you could probably care less because you've heard every song already right? Wrong. Check out the final version of "Hollywood" that was not included in Smokey's unreleased Playa compilation. So consider this an exclusive courtesy of www.staticmajorismusic.com Big shout-out to Farid for hooking me up with this track and also the entire album in CDQ. http://www.4shared.com/file/H5qAKnAu/Playa_-Throwback_Legendz__2002.html
