Skype Listening Party (February 25th) + Special Guests to Reminisce on Static's Life

EDIT: It is now February 25th at 7 PM.

We will be having a Skype listening party that day and many of you may already know that was the date that Static passed two years ago. We're going to try making this listening party the biggest one yet, with guest hosts and exclusive music from every Static era. That's right, that means music from Da Bassment, Playa and finally, Static Major.

*DJ Slam Edit: We are trying to get some special guests that were involved in his life to speak on their memories and talk about his legacy. This is going to be huge!

Join us that day at 7 pm EST. Mark those calendars!

  15. I wanted to share a time at the studio with Static. Southernaires was recording that song "Move." I'm the white lady gripping my purse on the elevator. I remember I walked into the studio, and I think it was Bird asked if I was there to record. I think I was dropping something off. But I was right on time to be the white lady on the elevator! Static marked the vocals for me and I tried my best : / I didn't get edited out at least lol And that night he needed females calling out. So he went out on the street by Penn Station and brought 2 girls back to do their hook. It was hilarious!! And those girls had no idea who they were in the same room with.

  16. Static helped me write my lines too! He gave me creative license like every good producer lmao I'll never forget him.

  17. are you going to post the Skype party to the site or have a download or something available. I was in class so I was not able to catch it.

  18. We had a lot of problems with Skype, so I was not able to record any of it other than the interviews. Sorry about that, we will try to have something similar to this sometime soon.

Music: Static Suppertime Mixtape Vol. 1 (2004) DOWNLOAD LINK

1. Stay Laced (Featuring Lil Flip) (4:14) 2. The Hood (Featuring Lil Flip) (3:41) 3. Rida (Featuring Lil Flip & Cassidy) (2:45) 4. She Say (Featuring Playa) (3:58) 5. Rollin (3:49) 6. Hard Tymez (Featuring Lil Flip) (2:40) 7. Weekend (Featuring Playa) (3:50) 8. Tipsy (3:23) I've heard back in 2005 somebody talk about that "Suppertime Mixtape", but i found it in 2008, & unfortunaly, the mixtape was just available in mp3 format. Released with no real promotion (but Louisville resident as i know, had this mixtape for a while), i guess lot of us didn't know about it until lately. This is for the hood lovers, got Lil Flip on it, Young Sears productions, it's OG Music here! We also got Playa songs on it. I guess Static wanted to give us just a taste of what Suppertime could be, the "Vol. 1" meaned it had to has other volume coming, but for this one like i said, it's OG Music except the last track... Edit: You can listen & buy the mixtape here U

Music: Static Major - Questions (Aaliyah's Demo) (UPDATE WITH FULL SONG)

As we all know, Static & Aaliyah were close, you can feel the chemistry between the writer and the singer, and Static most impressive talent was his ability to write for a woman, to express a woman's feeling. So there's the song "Questions" produced by Buddha, wrote & sung by Static, a demo song for Aaliyah, made around 2000-2001 i think. I don't know yet if she had the chance to record it for herself, but Static version shows his falsetto skills, he wrote for a woman, & even sing the demo like Aaliyah should sing it, amazing! Stay tune for a snippet listening, something rare that i'm sure you don't wanna miss! UPDATE: Here is the first installment of Static Music Monday.

Album: Playa - Throwback Legendz

I'm sure a lot of you have already heard most, if not all, of the album. Smokey has been selling it on his website and I've also been uploading the songs on Youtube. So instead of choosing one of those two options, we've decided to let everyone download this unreleased classic album for free. And I bet a lot of you could probably care less because you've heard every song already right? Wrong. Check out the final version of "Hollywood" that was not included in Smokey's unreleased Playa compilation. So consider this an exclusive courtesy of www.staticmajorismusic.com Big shout-out to Farid for hooking me up with this track and also the entire album in CDQ. http://www.4shared.com/file/H5qAKnAu/Playa_-Throwback_Legendz__2002.html
