Question Of The Week #11: Static written or Static influenced?

As much flack as Pleasure P gets on this blog (lol), we need to also keep in mind that he's been repping Static as hard as anyone has.

So today I present to you two tracks by Pleasure P that may or may not be written by Static.

The first one we have is "Chocolate Coated Candy", which is produced by Rudy.

It's never actually been confirmed that this was written by Static. I had just assumed it was because it was a Rudy produced track.

The next track we have is "Lick Lick Lick", which will probably be a lot harder to solve because it doesn't sound like a Rudy beat.

As I listen to some of the runs that Pleasure is doing on this song, I can definitely hear Static on it. It might just be influenced by Static though, considering they worked together on Pretty Ricky's first two albums and also on Pleasure's solo album. Let me know what you think.

In other news, be on the look out for Pleasure P's song "Change Positions", which will be the first single off his "Suppertime" album.

EDIT: We've gotten confirmation from Rudy that "Chocolated Coated Candy" was written and produced by Rudy. Although Static had nothing to do with the song, you can hear the influence that he had on both Rudy and Pleasure P. Shout out to Rudy for helping us out. Everyone should follow Rudy on Twitter @ www.twitter.com/rudyonline and show him some love.

  1. i really hope he dont go with this "suppertime" idea..i mean do ya own thing n jus rep static in that, cuz being he tryna 'remake' suppertime doesn't seem like reppin to me..then he gon get all the recognition for statics blood, sweat n tears!!! sorry but i'll neva b a fan of that idea..n i can listen to pleasure p truthfully n enjoy it but when u throw static in the mix im offended..lol..but i hear static's influence in him so thats prolly y i can tolerate his music..lol

  2. I'm with Both Jaz n Pooh. Of course Static wrote and most likely lent BkG vocals to Chocolate Candy. I love the vocal growth P has gone through while working w/ Static. Lick def has Static influenced runs, vocal stacks, & that nasal effect that only Static can make sound good (lol). I know P wants to rep Static, but i think his sophomore album needs a name change. B/c if P's cover of Patience is a hint to what will be going down...UGH, im not looking forward to it.

Released with no real promotion (but Louisville resident as i know, had this mixtape for a while), i guess lot of us didn't know about it until lately. This is for the hood lovers, got Lil Flip on it, Young Sears productions, it's OG Music here! We also got Playa songs on it. I guess Static wanted to give us just a taste of what Suppertime could be, the "Vol. 1" meaned it had to has other volume coming, but for this one like i said, it's OG Music except the last track... Edit: You can listen & buy the mixtape here U

Music: Static Major - Questions (Aaliyah's Demo) (UPDATE WITH FULL SONG)

As we all know, Static & Aaliyah were close, you can feel the chemistry between the writer and the singer, and Static most impressive talent was his ability to write for a woman, to express a woman's feeling. So there's the song "Questions" produced by Buddha, wrote & sung by Static, a demo song for Aaliyah, made around 2000-2001 i think. I don't know yet if she had the chance to record it for herself, but Static version shows his falsetto skills, he wrote for a woman, & even sing the demo like Aaliyah should sing it, amazing! Stay tune for a snippet listening, something rare that i'm sure you don't wanna miss! UPDATE: Here is the first installment of Static Music Monday.

Album: Playa - Throwback Legendz

I'm sure a lot of you have already heard most, if not all, of the album. Smokey has been selling it on his website and I've also been uploading the songs on Youtube. So instead of choosing one of those two options, we've decided to let everyone download this unreleased classic album for free. And I bet a lot of you could probably care less because you've heard every song already right? Wrong. Check out the final version of "Hollywood" that was not included in Smokey's unreleased Playa compilation. So consider this an exclusive courtesy of www.staticmajorismusic.com Big shout-out to Farid for hooking me up with this track and also the entire album in CDQ. http://www.4shared.com/file/H5qAKnAu/Playa_-Throwback_Legendz__2002.html
