Question Of The Week #3

We've talked about the female artists, let's now talk about the male artists.

"What is your favourite Static-penned track by a Male Artist (Male Group)?

To make it fair, you're not allowed post any Static songs (that's for another week, lol) or Playa songs.

I'm going with "So Anxious" by Ginuwine, which is actually my favourite song of all time. Other considerations for me would include "Pony", "Same Ol'G' and "Final Warning" by Ginuwine, and "Can I Take U Home" by Jamie Foxx.

  5. Not too sure if the writing is 100% accredited to stat or if it was a black/stat collabo as far as the writing...but "Halfway" by Digital black, and "Messed around" by Digital, love them 2 tracks equally.

  6. Techincally speaking, those would be "Playa" joints. But then again they might not because Smokey had no involvement on the track. Hmm...lol

But yeah, it doesn't have to be 100% Static!

  7. I would say ILLUSION with pleasure p & Everything That He Touched With Ginuwine. But I'll Take Illusion Buy Static the original all day. Samuels.

  8. Right right...no smokey = not playa!! lol..but aye...u go by "Buddha"??....are you the Buddha from "Buddha and J-Dub" that produced on the "Aaliyah" album?

    ReplyDelete
  9. It's funny that you ask that because I've gotten that question a lot lately. But no, I'm not the producer Buddha, lol.

  10. WHAT ABOUT ALL THE STUFF HE DID FOR JODECI THAT HE DIDN'T GET CREDIT FOR? I love jodeci and everything he wrote for ginuwine...so fine

Tipsy (3:23) I've heard back in 2005 somebody talk about that "Suppertime Mixtape", but i found it in 2008, & unfortunaly, the mixtape was just available in mp3 format. Released with no real promotion (but Louisville resident as i know, had this mixtape for a while), i guess lot of us didn't know about it until lately. This is for the hood lovers, got Lil Flip on it, Young Sears productions, it's OG Music here! We also got Playa songs on it. I guess Static wanted to give us just a taste of what Suppertime could be, the "Vol. 1" meaned it had to has other volume coming, but for this one like i said, it's OG Music except the last track... Edit: You can listen & buy the mixtape here U

Music: Static Major - Questions (Aaliyah's Demo) (UPDATE WITH FULL SONG)

As we all know, Static & Aaliyah were close, you can feel the chemistry between the writer and the singer, and Static most impressive talent was his ability to write for a woman, to express a woman's feeling. So there's the song "Questions" produced by Buddha, wrote & sung by Static, a demo song for Aaliyah, made around 2000-2001 i think. I don't know yet if she had the chance to record it for herself, but Static version shows his falsetto skills, he wrote for a woman, & even sing the demo like Aaliyah should sing it, amazing! Stay tune for a snippet listening, something rare that i'm sure you don't wanna miss! UPDATE: Here is the first installment of Static Music Monday.

Album: Playa - Throwback Legendz

I'm sure a lot of you have already heard most, if not all, of the album. Smokey has been selling it on his website and I've also been uploading the songs on Youtube. So instead of choosing one of those two options, we've decided to let everyone download this unreleased classic album for free. And I bet a lot of you could probably care less because you've heard every song already right? Wrong. Check out the final version of "Hollywood" that was not included in Smokey's unreleased Playa compilation. So consider this an exclusive courtesy of www.staticmajorismusic.com Big shout-out to Farid for hooking me up with this track and also the entire album in CDQ. http://www.4shared.com/file/H5qAKnAu/Playa_-Throwback_Legendz__2002.html
